saturday 29 march 2025, bristol, uk...

two days was an exhibition at kit form in bristol during which artists exhibited pieces that were intentionally unfinished, allowing us to question who has final say on when a piece is 'gallery ready'

I chose to display my experiments with bioplastic and photography as part of this exhibition
alongside my work, I was invited to create during the exhibition, a kind of performance, kind of conversation space and also moment for me to reflect on my work in the context of this space

it was a beautiful experience for me, I was moved by the conversations I had with fellow artists and other visitors to the exhibition and the curiosity they displayed for the process and vision in my work
mostly, I discovered how much I enjoyed sharing the 'in flux' state of creating these pieces, as the fluidity of both the bioplastic and emulsion lift is not evident once the pieces are 'finished' -- it was wonderful for other to be able to see as I do and understand why I am exploring this process to talk about the body and memory...

i never thought of myself as a performer, or an artist who would want to share this element of my work, but I take away from this exhibition that I value this sharing and conversation...
